How to send a file that's too big for email

Published 2026-07-22 · CloudBox

Gmail and Outlook cap attachments at around 25 MB. Here's how to send anything bigger without zipping into pieces or making someone request access to a folder.

The simplest fix

Upload the file to CloudBox and paste the link into your email instead of attaching the file. Up to 2 GB is free, it's encrypted in your browser, and the recipient just clicks the link — no account.

Why not just zip and split it?

Splitting a file into parts is fiddly, error-prone, and the recipient has to reassemble it. A single secure link is faster for both of you and doesn't trip spam filters the way large attachments do.

Sending from Gmail or Outlook

Create the CloudBox link, then paste it into your email — or let CloudBox email the link to your recipient directly. Either way the big file never touches your mail provider's size limit.
